the ATTMA Sound Insulation Testing Level 1 Training is a five-day course provides a basic knowledge of the methodology for measuring and reporting sound insulation and aspects of room acoustics, together with relevant provisions of key standards and guidance. There is an examination on the final day of the course.
Completion of this course is the first step towards becoming a registered sound insulation tester with the ATTMA Registered Testers Scheme.

The full fee must be paid in advance to ATTMA 5 days before the course starts. Failure to pay the fee in full may result in your place being given away to another tester.
The Institute of Acoustics is committed to an open access policy. The main principle is to admit all who will benefit from the Certificate programmes. However students will need to be numerate and to be able to carry out scientific calculations.
Attendance is usually for four days, plus the examination day.
To obtain a Certificate, a candidate is required to;
1) Pass both parts of a written examination
2) Produce a competent report following a practical test.
To then obtain ATTMA Accreditation, a candidate is then required to:
1) Undergo a Quality Management Audit by an ATTMA Auditor
2) Undergo a Witness Test by an ATTMA Auditor
